Make a Donation
To say I have mixed feelings about joining the ranks of writers and artists who have slapped a PayPal "donate" button on their web sites, blogs, etc., is an understatement. I'll have more to say about it later. Suffice to say, I have learned the painful lesson that unless one enjoys full-time employment as a writer (which I did for two decades) writing costs money. More than I expected. It costs money for computer maintenance, web hosting, Internet access, printing at Staples, postage, and fees for contests, grant applications, conferences, professional memberships and editing services. I've come to understand that writers must -- to whatever extent possible -- support others in the writing community. And, to every extent possible, I will walk the talk. The first thing I did after joining PayPal was to throw a few bucks into another writer's tip jar. It felt good. So: If you've checked out the Reading Everest project and think it's worthy of being published in whole or in part, please consider making a donation. Thanks.
